Phelius D. Hill, age 22, was born on the 22nd of January 1987, in Sardis, MS to the Late Mr. Jeffrey Tyrone Hill and Ms. Mary E. Grady. Phelius attended the North Panola School District where she excelled as a student, athlete, and all around person. She started playing basketball for the Como Middle School. She would play for this team for the next four years which two of those years, where undefeated.  Her awards in basketball included All-Academic Team, and Most-Improved.  When she entered into the seventh grade she became a part of the student council serving as the secretary. She was also a part of the FFA, competing in contest and at competitions held at Northwest Community College and Mississippi State University.As she entered
eight grade she continued her affiliation with the student council becoming Parliamentarian of the 8th grade class and the council.  She became a member of the Atomic Cats of the North Marching Band, the Choir at Como Middle, and the National Junior Honor Society.  In her first year of playing in the band she was a very quick learner and she became the head of the saxophone section. When she became a freshman in high school she jumped on the band wagon of school spirit and became parliamentarian again this time she would only serve her 9th, 10th, and 12th grade year. Also, while in high school she was a part of many clubs and organizations such as FCCLA, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, High School Choir, Marching Band, Social Club, Beta Club, and many more.  She also was
a part of several sports, Volleyball, Basketball, Shot put and Discus and Statistician for the football team.  On completion of North Panola High School she received several awards and three scholarships at graduation.  She also graduated with honors in 2005. She continued her education at Northwest Community College and only participated in one on campus organization. She is now a junior at Jackson State University, where she is an active member of the Psychology club as the Community Service Project Leader, Interfaith Gospel Choir, and of course, MADDRAMA Performance Troupe. With a major in psychology, she aspires to one day start her own practice.  In life, Phelius has been faced with some difficulties that she says made her the strong willed person she is today. Those that she has lost along the way have been the driving force for her. Her motto is, “GOOD, BETTER, BEST. Never settle, until your good becomes your better, and your better becomes your best.”
