Deja Knight is a junior computer science major from Dallas, TX. She was born in Jackson, MS, and then spent a few years on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and in New Orleans, LA before moving to the Lone Star State. During that time, she developed a great appreciation for the arts, especially the dramatic arts. She became interested in MADDRAMA Performance Troupe after hearing endless compliments from her grandparents, Mr. Jimmie and Rev. Annie Travis. It was at the homegoing celebration of Jimmie Travis that she first witnessed the amazing talent of the troupe. Deja joined MADDRAMA during her first semester at Jackson State and has never looked back! She often boasts about the comforting family that she found and holds so dearly to her heart. Along with MADDRAMA, Deja is also a member of JSU's Dance Ensemble, the Student Government Association, the Gamma Rho Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and the Essence of a Lady Tiger mentoring program. After graduation, Deja plans to attend law school in hopes of becoming a successful attorney with a focus on intellectual property law. .
