Sara LeeAnn Benson, born in Oklahoma City, OK on February 24, 1990 to Min. Freddie L. Benson Sr. and Janet F. Benson. She was raised in both Oklahoma City and Horn Lake, MS where she currently resides. Sara is the second child of four and is the only girl. Her three brothers are Fredrick Benson 26, Freddie Benson Jr 16, and Bennie Benson 12. Sara started school in Horn Lake at Horn Lake Elem. She went there for pre-k and first grade. Her family then moved to Oklahoma City, where she attended Longfellow Elem for second and third grade. Her family then moved in 1999 back to Horn Lake and she stayed in the Horn Lake School system until graduating in 2008 from Horn Lake High school. Sara and her family have gone through many struggles. During her years of high school, Sara became involved in many different organizations. She was the captain of her varsity basketball cheerleaders for three years, she was a member of student council where she served as sophomore class secretary and executive board treasurer her senior year. She was a peer counselor and a member of many different clubs. Her senior year Sara was awarded many great titles. She was crowned Homecoming Queen 2007-08, a title that made her the 4th African-American girl to ever win in her school history. She was also named the Playtex Sport team player of the month of April. Sara graduated in the top ten percent of her class, ranking 7 out of 296 and received a full scholarship to Jackson State University, where she an upcoming sophomore and is majoring in Political Science and minoring in English. After graduating from JSU, Sara hopes to attend Georgetown University where she plans on going into their law program. Sara wants to become a successful sports agent and run her own firm. Sara is a very dedicated and loving person who hopes to start a loving family, in the distant future, of four children, a great husband, and a dog. Her favorite color is green and she loves to read and watch horror movies. She is also a very dedicated member of Dean Hill Baptist Church, where she is active in the teen ministry, dance ministry, children church, and care home ministry. She lives by her favorite quote “Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.”
